Who Are We?

We are Kneaded Energy^®.  We are a private practice of professional massage therapy, employing seasoned, experienced massage therapists in Greensboro, NC.  Although our client base from in and around Greensboro numbers close to 10,000, we give a small practice feel to our work.  We are located at 321 W. Wendover Avenue just on the edge of historic Fisher Park in Greensboro.  You can request a certain therapist, find your fit of therapists or perhaps try a new pair of hands.

Everyone at the Kneaded Energy Companies is actively creating and writing the history of the practice.  Each employee, each client is contributing to the reputation and integrity of our profession.  We invite you to become a part of the history.

The History of Kneaded Energy

Kneaded Energy was established in 2000 by Bill Norman, LMBT and Shelley Johnson, LMBT.  They are the co-creators of Kneaded Energy.  They started this massage practice directly after graduating from Body Therapy Institute and worked long hours to get the practice up and running.  During this time, if they didn't have clients, they networked, they volunteered, they invited people to experience massage therapy.  Bill and Shelley covered the phone on evenings and weekends, jumping at every opportunity to grow the business and create a self sustaining massage practice.  Bill and Shelley were "all in". 

Today, Kneaded Energy is a well known business and a well-oiled machine.  The practice is open 7 days a week, 9am-9pm Monday through Saturday and on Sunday, 12-8pm. 

The People behind the Curtain 

Bill Norman is a native of Whitesboro, Texas.  His back background is in the food industry having graduated from the famed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.  Bill is a graduate of Body Therapy Institute where he trained as a massage therapist.  Bill's focus on the business is managing all financial aspects of the different Kneaded Energy Companies.  Bill has 2 adult children, Lesley and Andrew.  Bill and Shelley met in massage school and married once they came up for air from starting the business.

Shelley Johnson is a native of Wichita, Kansas.  She is a graduate of Friends University and a Body Therapy Institute.  Shelley built a 20 year career in corporate purchasing and outsourcing that provided her the opportunity for a variety international travel.  Shelley moved to New York city continuing her corporate career and just like the song "if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere", she gained a ton of personal and professional confidence that continues to influence her life today. 

Lesley Hobbs was born in Poughkeepsie, NY and grew up in Greensboro, NC.  Lesley worked for Kneaded Energy throughout high school and in the summers from college.  She graduate from Meredith College.  After getting her feet wet working for other companies Bill and Shelley decided it was time to recruit her to work in the business.  Lesley is the Business Manager (or in corporate terms, the Chief Operations Officer) of Kneaded Energy the Professional Massage Therapy Practice.  In the past year, Lesley graduated from Elon University with Masters in Business Administration and gave birth to her first daughter, Layla.  Layla visits her mother at the office every Mon-Wed for about 1 hour and spreads the same amount of cheer and joy that her mother does on a daily basis. 

"Augie", who's formal name is Auguste Escoffier Norman, and named after Georges Auguste Escoffier the infamous French chef, restaurateur and culinary writer.  Augie comes to the office every day and has his own staircase up to his perch on the desk.  Once he learns the client and develops a relationship with them, he notifies the practice with a bark when the client drive up.  Augie has his own Facebook page, look for him there.
