Who we are
We are a small family owned business, employing a respected team of seasoned therapists that share a sense of purpose and mission.
Our therapists are state licensed and professionally trained. Most come from our in-house professional massage therapy school. Our massage therapists receive more actual, hands on, on-the-job training in the first 1000 hours of employment with Kneaded Energy than most therapists receive in the entire private career. This statement is based on the variety of situations that present themselves through our practice and the sheer volume of clients we serve.
When you choose to receive massage at Kneaded Energy, you are choosing a fully staffed private practice to deliver your session. This becomes apparent by the array of staff to greet you, the management available and behind the scenes, the hours of availability, the sense of team and camaraderie, the assistance and wealth of information we can share with each session, to the therapist that chooses to join our staff here at Kneaded Energy.
Over the Years
For 25 years, Bill and Shelley have made the focus of Kneaded Energy to be on the community and clients, first. Without clients; happy returning clients, we could not exist.
Bill and Shelley met in massage school. Bill was from Texas, Shelley was from Kansas. Unaware of each other, they simultaneously moved to NY state in the 90’s; he attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, she moved to NYC for the experience of living in “the city that never sleeps”.
Within 3-4 years of each other, they both relocated to North Carolina; Bill to Greensboro, Shelley bought a house in Gibsonville. It wasn’t until they attended Body Therapy Institute in Siler City in 1998 that they actually met and the rest is history. After all these years and raising their family, they consider North Carolina home.
Bill and Shelley started Kneaded Energy with a personal policy that is now hallmarked into the Kneaded Energy culture: “Our answer is YES, and we’ll figure out the details.”

We grow Great Therapists
We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside some of the absolute best massage therapists in the industry, many of them graduating from our school. From the start of Kneaded Energy in 1999 to our current staff of therapists and administration, we feel honored to rub shoulders with some of the finest people and most talented therapists. During our 25th Anniversary promotion year, we will feature a “where are they now” posting of some of our former therapists who have left the industry.
Kneaded Energy is a staple in the community for the therapists starting out. Some stay for a season, some stay for a lifetime.
Kneaded Energy is great training ground for therapists to hone their skills, build their confidence and fill their book. We’re grateful to watch them grow.
Some, once they have saved some money and built their confidence decide it’s time to set out to follow their original dream - that of being a sole practitioner. We celebrate them finding their wings and hope for their success.
For others, Kneaded Energy helped them get to the next season of their life; college, children, marriage, retirement. We’re thankful we could walk this path with them.
We are grateful for their time with us and to their contribution to Your life. We feel blessed to have known them all.
